Amical FC and Namscot friendly in Glasgow on Sunday can simply be themed an encounter between the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon and the Brave Warriors of Namibia
Friendly football match
Football has always had a special way of bringing African communities together, and that spirit will be on full display on Sunday, 17 May 2026, as Amical FC Glasgow hosts Namscot in a friendly match at Glenconner Park in Glasgow.
Amical FC Glasgow, made up mainly of Cameroonian players alongside teammates from other African nations, will face Namscot, proudly representing the Namibian community in Scotland, in what promises to be a beautiful afternoon of football, friendship, and cultural connection.
The match also carries echoes of previous encounters between the Cameroon men’s national team, famously known as the Indomitable Lions, and the Namibia men’s national team, affectionately called the Brave Warriors. Over the years, the two nations have met in competitive African football, with Cameroon recognised for its rich football history and Namibia continuing to grow as a determined football nation on the continent.

Amical FC coach Max says the occasion is about far more than football.
“We expect a competitive but respectful game. Football gives Africans in Scotland the opportunity to unite, socialise, and support one another. We want supporters to enjoy good football and celebrate our cultures together.”
Namscot coach Marobikake also welcomed the fixture and praised the growing connection between African communities through sport.
“This is more than a match for us. It is about friendship, pride, and representing Namibia positively in Scotland. We expect a strong game from both teams, but most importantly we want everyone to leave smiling and feeling connected.”

Recent meetings between the Indomitable Lions and the Brave Warriors have always been played with passion and mutual respect, qualities expected to shine through again in Glasgow, this time at the community level.
Kick-off is at 3 PM at Glenconner Park, 267 Royston Road, Glasgow G21 2BS, and supporters can expect an entertaining encounter filled with energy, laughter, and community spirit. Football will once again prove to be more than just a game – it will be a celebration of identity, brotherhood, and togetherness.
