About Us

A community-led creative industries employability and skills hub.

Mission

We use community broadcast technology tools, production processes, digital media, and creative industries training as practical pathways into education, employability, confidence building, and social participation for people experiencing poverty, exclusion, and barriers to opportunity. Through structured training, mentoring, volunteering, and real-world broadcasting experience, we support young people and underrepresented communities to develop transferable skills, access further learning, and progress toward sustainable work pathways.” We support Black and racially minoritised communities, refugees, asylum seekers, New Scots, young people, and grassroots creatives to tell their stories, gain confidence, and develop real practical workplace skills. Through community projects, live events, and partnerships, we create real pathways into education, employment, and entrepreneurship while promoting wellbeing, inclusion, and community connection.

Mission

Our vision is a Scotland where everyone participate in the economy and social growth of our communities, feels empowered, seen, heard, and represented in all sectors and workforce, especially in creative industries.

We aim to grow as a leading community-led skills training and opportunities pipeline hub, digital broadcaster and business and creative hub, rooted in Scotland and connected globally.

Through Jambo! Studios, training, and partnerships, we will build a sustainable platform that nurtures diverse talent, preserves cultural heritage, and creates new opportunities.

Our goal is to shape a more inclusive creative economy where communities can share their stories, access opportunities, and thrive.

Unlike mainstream broadcasters, our content and information are made available for speakers of other languages of African and Caribbean heritage, in the languages that they best understand.

We discuss issues that directly affect people in the community and provide clear updates on current events and topics in multiple languages.

🌍

We serve as a channel for people of African and Caribbean heritage in Scotland to encourage visibility, economic development, equality and social justice.

📻

We broadcast in Swahili, Pidgin, Igbo, Yoruba, French and Lingala — to learn more about our African and Caribbean radio station, follow Jambo Radio on social media.

🎙️

We also use advanced and innovative broadcast production processes and techniques to offer digital and employability skills to people in the communities.
