Scotland's Fastest Young Stars Set to Light Up Glasgow as SprintFastest Returns Bigger Than Ever

June 14, 2026 by Jambo! Radio Scotland

Scotland’s most exciting young sprinters are preparing to race for glory as the SprintFastest All-Star Indoor Championship 2026 returns to Glasgow this autumn with an even bigger and more thrilling event.

Taking place on Saturday, 3 October 2026, at the Glasgow International Arena (formerly the Emirates Arena), the championship promises a day packed with speed, energy and family fun.

Following the success of its debut event earlier this year, SprintFastest is back with a renewed mission: to inspire more young people to take part in sport and to provide a platform for Scotland’s rising athletics stars to shine.

The first championship attracted more than 160 athletes from over 40 clubs across Scotland, alongside an audience of around 1,000 spectators. The atmosphere was electric as young competitors delivered personal bests and unforgettable performances.

This year’s indoor edition will focus on the exciting 200-metre races, featuring multiple youth age categories and showcasing some of the country’s brightest sprinting talents.

But SprintFastest is about more than competition. Organisers are creating an experience for the whole family, with entertainment, side activities and interactive experiences for both children and adults throughout the day.

The impact of the inaugural event is reflected in the praise it received from officials, coaches and families.

Barry, an event official, said: “Really enjoyed the event and thought you’d put a lot of work into it to make it a special day.”

Coach Nigel added: “We all had a fantastic day out and are looking forward to doing the same next year.”

For athlete Kian (pictured below with her family), victory made the experience even more memorable. “It was a great competition and a nice way to open up the outdoor season. Delighted to have won the U17 age group,” he said.
