First-ever SprintFastest event enjoyed an electric start in Grangemouth

Over a thousand spectators gathered to watch athletes from across the country battle it out in 100m races across age groups from U11 to U20. The event delivered exactly what it promised: speed, excitement, inspiration, and an opportunity for young people and families to experience elite-style athletics in an accessible, welcoming environment.

Entry was free for under-16s and families experiencing financial hardship, ensuring that cost was never a barrier to enjoying the day.

Alongside the races, attendees enjoyed music, face painting, bouncy castle, cheerleaders, food stalls and a family-friendly atmosphere that kept the stadium buzzing throughout.

Founder of SprintFastest, Enoch Adeyemi, (pictured below) spoke to us about the hope of the event:

“This was an incredible day for Scottish youth athletics. The energy from the athletes and the crowd was inspiring to watch. Our aim was to give young people a taste of something special, something that might spark confidence, ambition, or a new love for sport. Judging by the smiles and the performances we saw today, SprintFastest achieved exactly that.”

A major highlight of the day was the outstanding performances across all age groups, with the following athletes crowned SprintFastest 2026 champions:

U11 Girls Gold Winner was Louisa Arthur of Inverness Harriers AAC with a time of 13.54

U11 Boys Gold Winner was Charlie Robertson of Inverness Harriers AAC with a time of 13.59

U13 Girls Gold Winner was Cadha McLuskey of Harmeny Athletic Club with a time of 12.94

U13 Boys Gold Winner was Harrison Brand of East Kilbride Athletic Club with a time of 11.93

U15 Girls Gold Winner was Aoiffion McVittie-Brangan of Edinburgh Athletic Club with a time of 12.38

U15 Boys Gold Winner was Cameron Kennedy of Aberdeen Amateur Athletic Club with a time of 11.18

U17 Girls Gold Winner was Lucy Chadha of Pitreavie AAC with a time of 12.69

U17 Boys Gold Winner was Kian Redman of Shetland AAC with a time of 11.15

U20 Women Gold Winner was Lauren McNair of Law & District AAC with a time of 12.51

U20 Men Gold Winner was Tony Wesley of Aberdeen AAC with a time of 11.03
