Luminate Scotland is an organization that works to ensure all older people in Scotland can enjoy high-quality arts and creative activities, regardless of their background and circumstances. Our project was designed to provide a platform for African and Caribbean elders to share their stories and experiences, and to celebrate the diversity of Scotland’s older population.

Our project involved regular online meetings where members could provide mutual support and share their stories.
We also organised events and workshops to help members develop their storytelling skills and share their stories with a wider audience.

The project was a huge success, and we are proud to have been recognised for our efforts.
The Luminate Celebrating Diversity Award is a testament to the importance of celebrating diversity and promoting inclusivity in our communities. Our project has shown that there is a wealth of knowledge and experience among Scotland’s African and Caribbean elders, and that their stories deserve to be heard. By providing a platform for these stories to be shared, we hope to inspire others to celebrate diversity and promote inclusivity in their own communities.
