Jambo! Radio Scotland exists to advance opportunity, participation and representation through community broadcasting, education, training and creative activity.
Our radio station is more than a broadcasting platform. It provides a practical community space where people can develop skills, gain experience, volunteer, share their stories and participate in conversations that affect their communities.
Through radio, podcasts, video, digital media, training, events and community projects, we help people develop confidence, communication and creative skills while increasing the visibility of voices that remain under-represented in mainstream media and towards a more representative cultural life in Scotland, and inspires our vision of a Scotland committed to anti-racism.
Amplifying Voices. Developing Skills. Creating Opportunities.
Our mission is to empower communities through inclusive broadcasting, education, creative skills development and meaningful participation.

Nigerian-Scottish lawyer, editor, and political commentator with a strong focus on current affairs, Scottish politics, and issues affecting the African diaspora.

Bene Briggs-McKinlay (BB) is a Nigerian-Scottish lawyer, editor, and political commentator with a strong focus on current affairs, Scottish politics, international politics, and issues affecting the African diaspora.
I have over six years of broadcasting experience at Jambo! Radio Scotland, where I host BB's African News Magazine Show. Through this platform, I explore political developments and socio-economic issues affecting Scotland's diverse communities, while highlighting positive achievements across the Scottish African and wider African diasporas.
I am very passionate about providing informed, balanced commentary that connects domestic political developments in Scotland with international events and their local implications. My work regularly examines themes such as representation, community engagement, social cohesion, and the intersection of global politics with Scottish public life.
In addition to her radio work, BB has contributed to television discussions as a political commentator, offering analysis of Scottish politics and international developments that influence the UK and Scotland. BB is committed to thoughtful, inclusive public discourse and brings a unique perspective shaped by her professional experience, media work, and engagement with diaspora communities.
News bulletin reader on Jambo! Radio since February 2022. Researches and produces bulletins covering Renfrewshire, Glasgow, Scotland, the UK, and Africa.

I have been a news bulletin reader on Jambo! Radio since February 2022 and thoroughly enjoy doing this. I have always been interested in various types of media (television, newspapers, and radio) since I was a child, reading newspapers and watching the news, following current affairs, and being interested in the operations that go on behind the scenes, as well as what goes on in front of the camera.
My role at Jambo! Radio involves researching the latest news across Renfrewshire, Glasgow, Scotland, the UK, and Africa. I am required to source news stories from these areas then write up and record the news bulletin. After recording I then edit my broadcast before adding a sound newsbeat to it.
I would describe myself as a social, confident, kind, caring, and warm person who works well both as part of a team and on my own. I enjoy watching television and listening to music, and I enjoy football and exercising in my spare time.
Zambian Scot bringing a candid perspective on faith, culture, identity, and everyday life for the African diaspora community.

Inonge Siluka is a Zambian Scot who brings a candid, clear perspective to conversations about faith, culture, and the real-life challenges people navigate.
I have been a host on Jambo! Radio since 2023, creating space for honest conversations about Christian faith, culture, identity and everyday life for the African diaspora community.
I work at Macmillan Cancer Support as a development specialist, improving how services support people living with cancer and making sure they reflect what people actually experience. I also serve on the board of Racial Diversity UK, a charity working to diversify boards across the charity and public sectors.
I am the founder of Restored Hope Zambia and its UK partner, where I led work supporting survivors of sexual and spiritual abuse in church contexts, and helping communities respond in more informed and responsible ways, alongside wider work on safeguarding and access to justice.
I am particularly interested in what happens when systems don't work as they should, and how people and communities can respond in ways that actually make a difference. With a background in law and theology, she brings a clear, practical perspective shaped by both her work and lived experience, particularly on faith, culture and justice.
