Tree Of Life, for People Of Colour
This is a course of four workshops for People of Colour to explore heritage, future dreams, ideals, strengths and challenges through drawing and discussion. All art materials and some light refreshment will be provided. No previous drawing experience necessary.
Tree Of Life is a way of reflecting on your life and circumstances through drawing and discussion. It was developed by Phola, a South African organisation work with children affected by HIV and AIDS. The Tree of Life methodology is about focusing on a person’s second story – the customs, traits and communities that bring resilience and support. It is a culturally sensitive way of working and recognises that we need to heal in community, not alone.
It is not essential to attend all four sessions but is preferable. All sessions will be facilitated by Sapna Agarwal and are open to all People of Colour, aged 18+.
