Black people have lived in Scotland as far back as the early 1500s. Since then, thousands have made Scotland their home and settled in the major cities and towns across the country.

In contemporary times, there has been a huge increase in the number of Black people in Scotland with tens of thousands of us now making Scotland home. We have contributed to the development of the country in many areas including arts, business, education, entertainment, health, law, media, science, technology, and more.

The Black Scottish Awards celebrates the successes of individuals, groups, and organizations that are making a difference in Scotland.
